Most of our students are children, and most of our families live across borders. Both facts shape how seriously we treat the small amount of information you share with us.
When you book a free trial, we collect what you type into the form: the parent's name, the student's name and age, the course of interest, an email address, a WhatsApp number, your country, your time zone and your preferred class times, plus anything you add in the notes.
If you become a student, we additionally keep records of scheduled classes, attendance, practice notes from the guru, and payment records (amount, currency and date — never card numbers, which are handled entirely by our payment providers).
To run your classes: contacting you on WhatsApp to schedule the trial, matching the student with the right guru, sending class reminders, and sharing practice plans and progress notes.
We do not sell or rent your information to anyone, and we do not use it for third-party advertising. The only messages you'll get from us are about your classes and, occasionally, about the academy itself.
Students under 18 are enrolled by a parent or guardian, and all communication, scheduling and payment happens with the parent. We collect a child's name and age only as part of a parent-submitted booking — never directly from the child.
This follows the spirit and letter of India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act; for families in the UK and EU, the same practices are designed to satisfy GDPR's requirements for children's data.
Your information is stored in our database hosted on Amazon Web Services in Mumbai, India, protected by encryption in transit and at rest, and accessible only to the small team that runs the academy.
You can ask us at any time to show you the information we hold about your family, to correct it, or to delete it entirely. One WhatsApp message or email is enough — we honour deletion requests within 30 days, keeping only what payment law requires us to retain.
Privacy questions go to the same humans as everything else: message us on WhatsApp or email hello@riyaazacademy.example and the founder will answer personally.
